Experience. Experience is by far the most important key to achieving trading results. This is especially true when trying to succeed using automated trading systems. After all, when you plan to follow a system’s strategy consistently, it is imperative that the trading system is responsibly and robustly built so that you have the best possible chance for achieving the results you desire. In addition to evaluating the historical results of a system, we look at the real-time track record of a system to make sure the reality of a system meets its’ hypothetical expectations. We also look closely at portfolio selection for our systems and our clients, realizing that particular markets may not be suitable for all systems and clients. Lastly and most importantly, we evaluate our clients’ goals to ensure the systems they are trading are perfectly suited for each individual client.
Execution. The final part of the trading success equation is great execution. This is not something that can be directly taught, but it is something that can be learned. Worldwide Futures Systems’ 30+ years of trading floor experience, combined with our extensive system execution allows us, in most cases, to execute any systems signals with minimum slippage loss when clients utilize our Broker Assist program. Those years of experience have allowed us to develop relationships with the best floor brokers on both the Chicago and New York exchanges. When an electronic platform such as GLOBEX can consistently provide the best execution in a particular market, we gladly use that. Simply put, we always route our client’s orders to what we believe to be the best execution platform or broker we have for any particular market, regardless of cost. Compare this to lesser execution firms who simply send your order to the cheapest platform available to minimize their clearing fees and save the clearing firm a few dollars per trade. Depending on the system being traded, improved execution can boost results by thousands of dollars a year.
